Dirden, who most recently appeared on Broadway in MTC’s 2017 production of “Jitney,” and Adesola Osakalumi, who appeared in both Broadway productions of “Fela!” Osakalumi will also choreograph the production.
Additional casting and production details will be announced at a later date.
“Skeleton Crew” is written by Dominique Morisseau, who was recently Tony-nominated for writing the book of “Ain’t Too Proud,” and directed by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, who is currently performing on Broadway in his self-written, self-directed play “Lackawanna Blues.”
The production will feature set design by Michael Carnahan, lighting design by Rui Rita, original musical and sound design by Rob Kaplowitz and projection design by Nicholas Hussong. Kamra A. Jacobs will serve as production stage manager.
The play is scheduled to begin performances at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre Dec. 21, ahead of an opening night Jan. 12.
