Broadway’s spring 2026 season is shaping up to be one of the most dazzling, diverse, and downright unmissable in recent memory. 2026 is already underway, and a fantastic selection of new Broadway shows has been announced — from stage adaptations of screen favorites to starry plays and beyond. Whether you’re a die-hard theater devotee or a first-time visitor to the Great White Way, this season has something truly extraordinary in store.

Star Power Overload

Of the 16 productions opening between now and the end of April, 10 are plays, many featuring big-name stars including Daniel Radcliffe, John Lithgow, Ayo Edebiri, Don Cheadle, Taraji P. Henson, Rose Byrne, Kelli O’Hara, Nathan Lane, and Adrien Brody. The celebrity firepower is simply staggering.

Kicking things off, Tony winner Daniel Radcliffe stars in the Broadway premiere of *Every Brilliant Thing*, an interactive solo play about a man recounting everything life has to offer, opening March 12 at the Hudson Theatre. Following his Tony-winning turn in *Merrily We Roll Along*, Radcliffe returns to Broadway as a man who makes a list of things big and small that make life worth living — and audiences get to be part of the story.

Next up, directed by Tony Award winner Joe Mantello, the new production of Arthur Miller’s *Death of a Salesman* stars three-time Tony Award winner Nathan Lane, two-time Tony Award winner Laurie Metcalf, and Christopher Abbott for a limited 22-week run at the Winter Garden Theatre, beginning previews March 6.

Emmy winners Jon Bernthal and Ebon Moss-Bachrach make their Broadway debuts in *Dog Day Afternoon*, the stage adaptation of the hit Al Pacino film. Based on a true story, it follows two would-be bank robbers whose botched plot flies spectacularly out of control. The new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis will be directed by two-time Olivier Award winner Rupert Goold.

Revivals, Reimaginings & Fan Favorites

*Cats: The Jellicle Ball* — the drag and ball culture-inspired take on Andrew Lloyd Webber’s classic musical — arrives on Broadway following a successful Off-Broadway run, with previews beginning March 18. This radical reimagining, inspired by the Ballroom culture that roared out of New York City over 50 years ago, features all-new Ballroom and club beats, runway-ready choreography, and an edgy eleganza makeover.

The Broadway return of *The Rocky Horror Show* stars Luke Evans as Dr. Frank-N-Furter, a mad scientist who takes an innocent young couple on an unforgettable adventure through his weird, wild world, directed by Sam Pinkleton at the legendary Studio 54.

Ayo Edebiri and Don Cheadle make their Broadway debuts in David Auburn’s Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning play *Proof*, directed by Thomas Kail — a searing portrait of a daughter’s genius, a father’s legacy, and a family bound by brilliance, opening April 16 at the Booth Theatre.

Taraji P. Henson and Cedric “The Entertainer” will star in a major new production of August Wilson’s *Joe Turner’s Come and Gone*, directed by Golden Globe and four-time Emmy Award winner Debbie Allen, running at the Barrymore Theatre through July 12.

New Musicals Making Waves

*Beaches, A New Musical* — based on Iris Rainer Dart’s novel that inspired the beloved film — stars Jessica Vosk and Kelli Barrett at the Majestic Theatre, opening April 22. The production premiered in Alberta, Canada, in 2024 and will launch a national tour after its Broadway run.

*Schmigadoon!* arrives at the Nederlander Theatre on April 20, starring Alex Brightman, Sara Chase, Ana Gasteyer, and Ann Harada. The musical adaptation of Apple TV+’s beloved parody series comes to Broadway following a world premiere in Washington, D.C.

*The Lost Boys, A New Musical*, directed by Tony Award winner Michael Arden and based on the cult classic 1987 horror-comedy, follows two teenage brothers who move to the fictional town of Santa Carla, only to discover it is a haven for vampires, opening April 26 at the Palace Theatre.

Looking Ahead: Fall 2026 & Beyond

The excitement doesn’t stop at spring. *Dreamgirls* is set for Fall 2026, marking Broadway’s first all-new production of the beloved musical. Tom Hiddleston and Hayley Atwell will star in Jamie Lloyd’s joy-fueled reinvention of Shakespeare’s *Much Ado About Nothing*, also arriving in Fall 2026. And a new bio-musical inspired by the life and career of Grammy-winning singer-songwriter Dolly Parton has also been announced for 2026.
